NICOLE L. STRAND, M.D.
Dr. Strand specializes in family medicine.
As a family practice physician, Dr. Nicole L. Strand is trained in all the major areas of family medicine and is qualified to care for the medical needs of the entire family, ranging from newborns to geriatrics. She will provide pre-natal and obstetrics care at WMC and delivery services at Tri-County Hospital.
Dr. Strand is originally from Frazee, Minn. She completed her undergraduate degree in Cell Biology at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. She attended the University of Minnesota School of Medicine in Duluth and Minneapolis and completed her Family Medicine Residency at the Lacrosse-Mayo Family Medicine Residency Program in Lacrosse, Wisc., the summer 2007. She joined Wadena Medical Center in October of 2007.

Off Duty Interests and Activities:
In her spare time, Dr. Strand enjoys being outdoors, snowmobiling, skiing, boating, fishing, reading and traveling. She also plans to take flying lessons. Dr. Strand and her husband, Brent Gjersvig (a native of Detroit Lakes), reside near Verndale. Brent is a self-employed marine/boat mechanic.
