STEPHEN E. DAVIS, M.D.
Dr. Davis specializes in family medicine.
As a family practice doctor, Dr. Davis is trained in all major areas of family practice and is qualified to care for most of the medical needs of the entire family, from infants to the elderly.
Dr. Davis received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. He joined Wadena Medical Center in 1992, when he completed his residency in family practice at St. Joseph’s Hospital in St. Paul, Minn. He is board certified in family practice, which means that he has fulfilled the necessary criteria established by the regulating board and has passed examinations that accredit him in the field of family practice. He achieved a certificate of added qualification for Sports Medicine in 2001, and is an Aviation Medical Examiner.
Dr. Davis is a native of the Rochester, Minn., area. He said he chose to begin his practice in Wadena because he wanted to care for patients in an independent setting. Dr. Davis especially likes the small-town atmosphere at Wadena Medical Center, where he gets the opportunity to know the patient and their family.
What he enjoys most about being a family practice doctor is the variety of people he sees and the different types of cases he treats.

Off Duty Interests and Activities:
In his free time, Dr. Davis enjoys spending time with his family, woodworking, hunting and music. He’s also an avid University of Minnesota Golden Gophers fan.
He and his wife, Jill, a registered nurse at Wadena County Public Health, have five children.
