As a family practice doctor, Dr. Heidi G. Olson is trained in all major areas of family practice and is qualified to care for most of the medical needs of the entire family, from infants to the elderly.
Dr. Olson received her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dr. Olson joined Wadena Medical Center in December of 2008 after completing her residency in family practice at the University of Minnesota Rural Training Program in Mankato, Minnesota. She is board certified in family practice, which means she has fulfilled the necessary criteria established by the regulating board and has passed examinations that accredit her in the field of family practice.
Dr. Olson is a native of southeastern Minnesota. She always knew she wanted to practice and raise her family in a small town. “My professional goal has always been to be a family physician in a rural area,” commented Dr. Olson. “As a family physician, I look forward to providing a full array of services, with an emphasis on women’s health and maternity care.”

In her free time, Dr. Olson enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, traveling, cooking and watching sports.
She and her husband have two children.
