Physician joins Wadena Medical Center
Wadena Medical Center is pleased to announce the addition of Nicole Strand, M.D. According to Dr. Shaneen Schmidt, Wadena Medical Center president, Dr. Strand will join the Wadena Medical Center practice in September 2007.
Dr. Strand is originally from Frazee, Minn. She completed her undergraduate degree in Cell Biology at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. She attended the University of Minnesota School of Medicine in Minneapolis and will complete her Family Medicine Residency at the Lacrosse-Mayo Family Medicine Residency Program in Lacrosse, Wis., this spring.
In her spare time, Dr. Strand enjoys spending time with family and friends, skiing, boating and fishing as well as taking flying lessons. Nicole and her husband, Brent Gjersvig (originally from Detroit Lakes, Minn.), plan to live near Verndale. Brent is currently a Marine Engine Mechanic.
Dr. Strand joins Wadena Medical Center physicians Dr. Tim Schmitt, Dr. Thomas VanBruggen (general surgeon), Dr. Matthew Yelle, Dr. Steve Davis, Dr. John Pate, Dr. Aaron Larson, Dr. Shaneen Schmidt, Dr. Bobbi Adams and Dr. Lisa Murdoch in providing healthcare services for Wadena and the surrounding area.
